Electronic Bill of Sale Frequently Asked Questions

How Does an Electronic Bill of Sale Purchase Agreement Work?

  • The seller creates a secure account on our website by uploading a picture of the title, mileage, VIN plate and vehicle for sale.
  • We verify ownership, title and lien status of the vehicle. A bill of sale is created based on vehicle information provided.
  • The seller shares the data with a buyer to review their terms and conditions of the sale.  Inspection rights, purchase price, warranty/liability status, security interest, and payment method are reviewed.
  • Revisions are made and negotiated until all parties agree to the terms of sale.
  • The agreed copy gets processed by our vehicle title clerk and emailed to each participant to sign with their digital or electronic signature.
  • The final copy is notarized and emailed to each person to print for their records.
  • Payment arrangements stated in the Electronic Bill of Sale Purchase Agreement are handled between buyer, seller, and lien-holder (if applicable). We can assist with the process by holding the title until everything clears.

Is A Bill of Sale Required to Buy or Sell a Vehicle in Florida?

There are several reasons when you will need a Bill of Sale to transfer a vehicle, vessel or mobile home over to a buyer in Florida (Statute 319.21, 319.23, 320.27, 320.86, 328.01, 328.72 ). Having a Proper Bill of Sale when you go the DMV will help prove your purchase and prevent any issues that could occur with the vehicle in the future. So why wouldn’t you want to get one?  NOTE*  The Paper Title is required to transfer ownership.  This does NOT replace the Paper Title Requirements.

Is an Electronic Bill of Sale Purchase Agreement Legal to use with a Florida Title?
Yes! It is legal, tested, secure, auditable, and verifiable because of the Uniform Electronic Transaction Act which States: Section 668.04 Force and effect of electronic signature.
